I don't know if I'm just having an exceptionally picky day today but for some reason, all the photos I took just didn't look right to me. This was the only one I was semi-happy with. I personally loved this outfit but it just didn't photograph the way I saw it in the mirrow. Is this one of those brutally honest camera moments or does this happen to you too?

1. What technology do you use in blogging?
I guess you could say there are two major components to my blogging. I use my Nikon D80 for images and my 13' Macbook Pro for everything else. Although at one point my scanner will be incorporated for some old-school images. :) But that's another post for another day!
2. What computer and online technology do you use?
I mainly use iPhoto for uploading and storing photos, and Photoshop to edit them. Photoshop is also where I've designed my logo and buttons. I use a bit of TextEdit to help me experiment with the code for my layout.
Online, I use blogger for my blog and photobucket for hosting my images and a boatload of different websites for fonts and whatnot.
3. What is your process for taking pictures?
I'm still discovering my style, and I'm much too shy (right now, anyway) to brave taking pictures where anyone can see me. I do my own images using my camera and a tripod and then I run back and forth between photos to set the timer again. It's a bit tedious and having to run back to the camera to press the button can throw off my concentration but I hope to get better at it (oh and maybe buy a remote!) I'd definitely like to start incorporating different backdrops in my photos to make them more interesting. Pose-wise, I'll be honest, I have no idea what I'm doing. I just keep taking pictures until I find two or three that I'm happy with. It's hard because how you think you're posing looks so much different when you finally see the picture!
4. When it comes to backdrops for your photos what do you consider? Do you scout locations or shoot the same spot daily?
Yes, kind of. When I'm driving I'll pass a place and think "Ohh that would make for a great picture!" but as I mentioned above, I'm too chicken to just do it! That's going to be one of my goals for the year. Branch out and take risks. I think once I get more comfortable with being in front of the camera and posing, I'll be able to switch it up with the backdrop.
5. If you could splurge and get one new piece of equipment what would you be buying? I'd like to get a new lens for my camera someday. I've heard amazing things about Sigma lenses for self-portraits.

I love that your shirt is so loose and relaxed. Your shoes are cute, too.
When I spot a new location I'd like to try I attempt to figure out what time of the day that area isn't populated and go to take outfit shots then. Sometimes it works, other times it's a failure and I go back home to the the tried and true locations. - Katy
