Monday Meals

This week's Monday Meal is one of my go-to meals when I want something that is easy to cook and that can be re-used (in a totally different way) later that week. Spaghetti!
Ingredients
1lb of Ground beef
3 Large cans (2 of Crushed tomatoes, 1 of petite diced tomatoes)
Garlic Powder
Oregano
Basil
Rosemary
Marjoram
Thyme
How to cook it:
1. Get a large pot and brown your ground beef.
2. Add the 3 cans of tomato sauce, lower heat to medium or medium-low.
3. I prefer to add the spices at the beginning so they cook through the sauce. To begin with, I'll add about 10 shakes of oregano and basil, 7 of garlic powder, and maybe 5 or so of rosemary, marjoram and thyme. Later on, once the sauce has been cooking for a while I'll do a taste test and add more as needed. This sauce can handle a lot of spices so don't worry too much about over spicing.
4. How long you cook it depends on what kind of consistency you want the sauce to be. My husband likes it a bit more runny, so I'll usually cook this sauce in a covered pot for about 50 - 70 minutes. If you like a thicker consistency, try cooking it for longer (my Mum, for example, cooks it for about 3 hours and leaves the lid cracked so some of the moisture can get out.
5. Cook some spaghetti or thin spaghetti and serve. We usually eat this with garlic bread as a side.
My Thoughts:
What I love about this recipe is that we use the leftovers for our Chicken Parm later that week, but that's different recipe for a different Monday!
